Senior Associate Principal – Workplace Design Director

New York

Irina believes that environments designed and built thoughtfully can change how we live and work. For over 20 years, she has helped clients in a variety of industries clarify their goals and realize their vision in headquarters and workplaces around the world.

I believe in idea-driven design that is informed by clarity of purpose and rooted in simplicity of expression. The art of transforming complex challenges into bespoke and data-driven solutions is at the core of our workplace strategy and design approach. It is about leading with curiosity and empowering clients to define their purpose in space uniquely their own.

Her recent projects include Goldman Sachs’ new 800,000-square-foot headquarters in Dallas, a flexible, sustainable, and future-proof workplace designed to evolve alongside the dynamic business and inventive people it supports. She also led the design of a new 4,000-person headquarters in Dubai, and SOM’s own Washington, D.C. studio. Guided by a philosophy of “radical reduction”—achieving maximum impact through minimal use of materials—the D.C. studio is a light-filled, collaborative workplace that empowers individuals and teams to perform at their best.

Across her work, Irina brings together rigorous analysis, a distinct design voice, and a deep commitment to sustainability—shaping workplaces that connect people, culture, and place.
